The information literacy badge project grew out of a collaboration with Ellen Moll (CAL/IAH), Sara Miller (Libraries) and myself. We originally envisioned a four badge sequence, but found that students were not particularly interested in receiving digital badges. Instead, the materials are now available for instructors to integrate into their D2L courses. Contact informationliteracybages@gmail.com if you would like access to the D2L quizzes.

The badge sequences are tied to the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, and aim to provide both skills and conceptual knowledge of topics. Citation as Conversation covers how and when to cite, as well as how citation functions within academic discourse. Knowledge Makers encourages students to learn about scholars, scholarly information, and academic networks.
